Deep Dive | Garment Hacks

On this Deep Dive day, we’ll take a good look at techniques you can use to hack garments, creating a sampler of different techniques and styles. After stitching up a bundle of different hem embellishments, fabric manipulations and finishes, we’ll then spend some time looking at how these ideas might be applied when making bigger or more complicated garments. Sketchbooks and moodboards always welcome!

The workshops take place at one of two venues:

• Lizzie’s studio in central Bristol, in a working textiles and tailoring space, or
• Clevedon Craft Centre

Small groups, maximum 6 people (studio) and 8 people (Craft Centre).

Time: 10am – 5pm

Please bring your own machine, or there are 2 available to book free of charge
You will need to bring your own fabric and requirements will be sent out prior to the day

NO PRIOR SEWING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY & PATTERN IS PROVIDED

Location: Betty Silk Studio, Bristol
We are close to the end of the M32 and Temple Meads train station is five minutes walk.

Tea, coffee and sweet treats will be provided. Please bring lunch, or you can visit one of the excellent local cafés.
There is a fabulous pub across the road, and within a few minutes walk are both Bristol’s best cake haven Bakehouse and the famous Hart’s Bakery.
